A verb can change its form to show when something happens — today, yesterday or tomorrow. This is called tense. Today you will learn present, past and future tense.

For most verbs, add -ed to show that something already happened.

💡 Did you know? A few words double their last letter first: stop → stopped, plan → planned.
Some verbs do not just add "-ed". They change into a whole new word. You cannot guess these — you must remember them!
go → went · eat → ate · see → saw · come → came · sit → sat · give → gave · sing → sang · fly → flew. Never say "goed", "eated" or "seed" — these words are not real!
To talk about something that has not happened yet, put will before the plain verb.
I will play tomorrow. · She will visit her grandmother next week. · We will go to the fair on Sunday.
